TTA Team Championships April 2023
This year’s TTA Team Championships took place on Sunday 30th April and had another great turnout from students from across the TTA London clubs.
Teams from TTA Barbican, TTA Peckham and TTA Southwark competed and won an impressive haul of medals across paired and team poomsae (patterns) and individual and team kyorugi (sparring). London students and instructors also performed a range of officiating roles and picked up valuable refereeing and ring management experience.
Thank you to all of our students who competed and officiated, and special congratulations to those who took part for their first or second time. We hope you enjoyed the competition and it gave you lots of insight and direction for your training in the weeks ahead.
Read on for all of the results from across each TTA London club, as well as the experiences of Catarina, a TTA Peckham student and green belt / 6th kup who competed (with great success!) in her second TTA competition and first Teams event.

Catarina’s competition experience:
“The TTA Teams Competition 2023 was my second time competing and this was an experience that I recommend to everyone. It was challenging, but very rewarding as it was my first victory in sparring. This was in part because I also attended the Individual Competition in November 2022, and that experience gave me sufficient knowledge to know what to expect and what to do.
“In addition to sparring, I also competed in Paired Poomsae, which was something new to me and made me learn how to sync with my team, even though we are at different grade levels. It was also an opportunity to meet new people from different clubs, but also to see familiar faces. I will take this experience and its learnings to class and work on what I can do better.”
